Thought I'd get an idea of how hardcore or casual the gamers here are.

And by that I don't mean in terms of time, but in terms of setup and settings.

Are you someone thats soo hardcore that you refuse to use anything wireless, stick to an old CRT monitor (as TFT/LCD's induce their own latency from 10ms-60ms, not to be confused with gtg response time) and keep graphics detail to minimum to maximise FPS and responsiveness.

Or, are you someone that doesn't mind being on wireless using wireless key/mouse/joy, or using an IPS or PVA type flat screen monitor and likes to have the graphics turned up just to enjoy the eye candy and just enjoy the visual feast to the max.

The latter point about graphics settings I guess also depends largely on what graphics card/s you're using.

Mine's pretty average by todays standards. The guys with 2 or 3 linked high spec cards can run full detail with very high fps still.

I'm probably more on the casual gamer side that prefers eye candy to highest possible FPS.

from time to time - normaly when i get angry of my stupid old lame slow pc - i buy a new one. i choose the second best components to get the best price for a really good pc! last year i got me a i5 quadcore with 4gb ram a hd 5770, two month ago i bought a second hd 5770 that almost doubled my fps in newest games. i think i can handle bp with high settings too. Cool

I'd just like to add that i'm not saying i'll max the crap out of everything and play at only 5 frames a second, lol. So don't worry I will have sufficiently higher enough FPS to play competently. I just wont be going all out super streamlined 150 FPS like some hardcore gamers.

And heres some pictures ^^

Watercooled cpu, that explains how you're running a 920 so fast without melting it Laughing

Definitely a true gamers machine right there.

My 920's much more DAW oriented. No overclocking. Built for being quiet for studio environment. Cosmos1000 case with internal soundproofing replaced with better quality soundproofing materials, Noctua 120mm fans. Fanless graphics card and hard drives are completely encased in Smart Drive NEO 5" bay cases.

You can get at-least 3.3 on the 920 on stock cooling - I would say its worth it and you will see the increase right away but there's also the chance of it blowing up. You might want to get the cooling system im using, its amazing and very cheap water-cooling - only £62 ^^ Heres a link, and btw my 920 is running cold - I think I could get it do around 4.5 ghz easy with this cooling.

Damn Mujina which 3xs is that? they cost a bit of money anyway them scan systems.

Id say im mediumcore myself. I want the gfx to look good but im not going to run them at a stupidly low fps rate...whats the point in 150fps when anything over 30 the human eye accepts as fluid motion and on my tv/monitor my refresh rate is 60hz so anything over 60fps is wasted anyway. i dont use wireless internet or wireless keyboards/mice tho as i have noticed lag on them some times.

Well I cant remember exactly how much I paid for it, I think it was just below 2000£ last year (when the gtx 295 was new) - I managed to get them to drop the price lots though, I managed to persuade them to add an extra GTX295 and an X-fi sound-card for the same original quoted price ^^ - I rang about 5 times asking for student discounts Razz

Haha brilliant idea...and yeah i thought it would be about that...im looking at buying an AMD system at about £700 selling the included card then runing maybe a 5870 with my nvidia gtx260 as the PhysX card with the hybrid drivers someone has made. See how far i can push a 955 with watercooling...unless i opt for the 6cores will see....maybe about christmas time now tho.
