Just for a little bit of fun select 3 games and but them in order of how great you think they are and why:

1. Deus Ex (orginal) Simply because it was a evolution in gaming being one of the first games that introduced the idea of 'Modding' your player it also had an amazing!!! storyline

2. Half-Life obviously awesome first proper Sierra game, amazing FPS and pretty scary at times.

3. F.E.A.R - Bit of a random choice I know but its just soooooo fucking scary like play it in a darkroom with a few mates taking turns it was sooo much fun

Absolutely, hands down, Deus Ex is the greatest single player gaming experience of my life. The epic fascinating story, epic size of the game, 4 ways of completing every stage, huge amounts of interesting dialogue.

It was one of the games that once I got into it I could not stop and was dying to know what was going to happen next. It made me want to explore, it made me feel like I was making my own decisions doing the path I wanted.

A lot of the great games that have come about since then owe a debt to Deus Ex 1 and its third installment has a LOT to live up to.

3.) Age of Empires 2 + expansion
4.) Diablo2
5.) Freelancer

And a special one which should be mentioned:

no absolut order here, but imo greatest ones in their genre:

- counterstrike 1.6: still best fps in wars or at lan parties. unique gameplay feeling & control of aiming and movement. too bad community gone lame Sad

- wow bc: best mmorpg so far. had awesome times with guild and raiding. dont have time for it anymore but new addon looks realy nice.

- diablo 2: crap graphics, simple gameplay but boy i spent some time with this game... Very Happy even better with the greatest mod i'v ever seen: median xl!

1. Secret Files: Tunguska - Imo the best P&C adventure out there.
2. Rome: Total War - i real blast for the RTS genre for it's time, an all around great game deserving alot of praise.
3. Freelancer - best action space game to date, hoping BP will surpass it Smile
4. Delta Force 2 - A really great FPS
5. Dungeon Siege 2 - one of the first/best RPGs i've played
6. Hearts of Iron 2 - Simply no other game that is anything like it (Grand Scale Strategy) to date.
7. Hogs of War (PS1) a really funny turn-based 3rd person shooter Smile

but i really can't make a clear choice what games are the best there are so many i'm leaving out like Fable, Far Cry, Silent Hunter 3/4, Freedom Fighters, Gearhead Garage, HoMM, Homeworld, Mass Effect, Dragonage origins, IL-2 Very Happy okay.. okay i'm stopping now.

P.S. sorry about the "3" games thing lol Neutral.

I agree with Wulfstan that the best joint games are the Zeldas for the N64. They were my entry into gaming followed by my first pc FPS SWAT 3.

I think SWAT 3 is what games should strive to be again...openly modable. It introduces so much more potential for a great gaming community.

I also think Dragon Age Origins has to be in my top games as its the only modern RPG iv actually wanted to go ahead and complete 100%.
